Hezbollah leader Ahmad Mahmoud Wahbi, known as "Haj Abu Hussein Samir," was assassinated by Israeli Occupation Forces in Beirut’s southern suburbs, alongside fellow commander Ibrahim Aqil and other officials.

About Ahmad Wahbi

Born in Adloun, southern Lebanon, on Nov. 1, 1964, Wahbi joined the Islamic Resistance from its inception and participated in several military operations against Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) in southern Lebanon.

In 1984, he was captured by "Israel" and later became a key figure in the 1997 Ansariyeh ambush, a pivotal moment in Lebanon's resistance history.

According to Hezbollah's statement, Wahbi held various leadership roles, including heading the party’s Central Training Unit until 2007, where he played a significant role in building the resistance’s human capabilities.

Since 2012, he led training for Hezbollah's elite Radwan Unit and commanded its military operations on the Lebanese frontlines during Operation Aqsa Typhoon until early 2024. After the death of commander Wissam Al-Tawil, Wahbi resumed leading the Central Training Unit.

Wahbi was killed in an Israeli Occupation assassination operation on September 20, 2024, in Beirut’s southern suburbs.

As of Saturday morning, Hezbollah mourned the deaths of 16 members, including Ibrahim Aqil and other high-ranking officials.
